If you've been searching for information about diet and exercise on the internet, I'm sure you have encountered the phrases "clean eating" or "keep your diet clean" Clean, clean, clean, blah, blah, blah…
Maybe you asked yourself "what's up with that?" What's clean about the eating? I clean my lettuce, does that count? Well -- kinda, sorta…
This is what "the experts" mean when they talk about clean...
First of all, "clean food" is food that is close to it's natural state -- it's without added taste, color, or preservatives. It's low in salt, fat, and sugar.
"Clean eating" would follow these guidelines:
· You should eat five to six meals a day.
· Eat every two to three hours.
· Drink lots of water -- at least 8 cups
· Never miss a meal -- Especially Breakfast
· Avoid all over processed food like white flour and sugar
· Avoid all saturated and trans fats.
· Avoid sugared up colas or juices
· Eat healthy fats every day
· Avoid the calorie dense foods with no nutritional values
· Stick to the proper portion sizes!!!!
· Eat plenty of fruits and veggies for fiber and vitamins.
· Avoid alcohol - your body will burn the calories from the alcohol before it burns fat.
Okay, after looking at the above list, how are you doing? Are you keeping it clean or is there room for improvement?
Nobody is a saint, but you need to try and stay within these guidelines if you want to see better results.
